With SPOT Festival coming up, and Excite having five acts part of the line-up we thought it'd be a good idea to do a short q/a with three of them. Besides Vian, Ciel and Bottlecap - also Ida Kudo and Kraków Loves Adana will be in Århus, Denmark the coming weekend. Here's on cats, Rockaway Beach and being grateful.
CIEL, NL
What's the coming six months looking like for you?
- I will be focusing on writing and I am happy with the new musical direction that I found with Broadcast, Deerhunter and Nirvana as big inspirations. Also, I will be collaborating with some awesome artists. Apart from that I will be focusing on personal spiritual growth and letting go of perfectionism.
What's your opinion on being part of Excite 2018? And especailly with SPOT being just around the corner?
- I am very honored to be a part of the Excite program and I am thrilled to play at SPOT 2018! I have never been to Denmark nor SPOT but have heard such good things about the festival and about Århus. Nice bands, nice vibes, beautiful people. I am looking forward to this new experience!
What's the absolute best thing right about now, all areas?
- The beautiful and inspiring people that are in my life and that I meet every day. I am very thankful for that. I think being grateful for the things you already have in your life is really important.
BOTTLECAP, SE
What's the coming six months looking like for you?
- We just finished recording our new album and are looking for a good release date for the first single - Summertime Blues all the way! We got a couple of festivals to play during the summer, and loads of gigs coming up from the start of September and onwards. Will be a ripper!
What's your opinion on being part of Excite 2018? And especIally with SPOT being just around the corner?
- Excite has been a target for us for some time as it's a great opportunity to play shows, to meet interesting people and bands, to develop and to have a great time overall! We love doing wild and raw performances in front of music-thirsty people, which is what we're gonna do at SPOT!
What's the absolute best thing right about now, all areas?
- We got an album that we're really proud of, and can't wait to travel with it doing kick ass shows and playing new songs! Also - summer is around the corner, which means 1 more month of school before we head down to Rockaway Beach!

What's the coming six months looking like for you?
- We're currently writing new music and exploring the world. The next 6 months will hopefully bring creativity and opportunities.
What's your opinion on being part of Excite 2018? And especially so with SPOT being just around the corner?
- It's absolutely awesome to finally reach outside our country borders. We think it's an important initiative and feel very grateful for playing for new ears.
What's the absolute best thing right about now, all areas?
- This was the hardest question and we had to discuss this for a long time before agreeing it's probably cats. The world is getting better every day even though the news don't like saying it and so the best things must improve rough situations and make good situations better in your every day life. Therefore - cats.
