2018 is not only here, it’s already happening! The Excite-year which usually starts up around SPOT Festival in Denmark early May has seen some new cool things happening earlier than we’re used to. All this part of the extended action we’re bringing thanks to the Creative Europe program. We got you covered.
One of the new areas for the two upcoming years are the Associated Festivals, and we work with four of them in areas where we before had no partners at all. In order of appearance that means Slovenia, Poland, Spain and Portugal will all welcome artists through Excite to their festivals. Already this year two of them are on, MENT in Slovenia had Farveblind from Denmark visit and Spring Break in Poland got Kraków Loves Adana from Germany part of their line-up. After the summer Monkey Week in Seville and Braga Music Week in Portugal will also step in, and by then more of our partner festivals are on as well.
So far SPOT got their bookings done, and five (!) acts will be in Aarhus between 9th and 13th of May, next up after that is XpoNorth in Inverness, Scotland and colliding with Welcome to the Village in Leeuwarden, NL this July is our first Artist Development Camp. The camp will bring artists to a tailor made program happening over five days, with industry from the partner countries attending. With that being the start of the year, we almost looking forward to be passed the summer.
Even if not saying who’s going where over the year yet - we can now drop the names for 2018, and we got 13 acts packing bags through our 9 partners and 15 festivals. Life is good.
